Licensing and the trial
MomentBackup is a paid app with a real trial — the full product, free for 21 days, no credit card. Create a free MomentBackup account to unlock the download, then sign in inside the app and choose Start 21-day free trial. The account uses a secure email link, so there is no password to remember.
The trial starts once per account. Starting it on another computer does not add another 21 days — it uses the same signed end date. After the trial starts, the app can check it offline for the rest of its fixed 21-day window.
During the trial
Everything included for your platform works: backups, schedules, encryption, restores, and whole-computer images on Windows. Use it exactly as you would after buying.
When the trial ends
New backups pause until you add a license. Restoring never pauses — anything you backed up remains fully restorable, trial or not, forever. A backup product that could hold your data hostage wouldn’t deserve the name.
One-time purchase
MomentBackup is not a subscription. You buy a license once, it never expires, and 1.x updates are included. There is nothing to cancel because nothing recurs.
Activation works offline — including air-gapped machines
The license key is self-contained: the app checks it on the machine, with no activation server involved. That matters for the exact scenario backup software exists for — a machine just reinstalled onto a blank disk, possibly with no network drivers yet, that needs its data back now.
It also means a computer that never goes online can be licensed. Buy on any device, then bring the key over by typing it in, or carry the license file on a USB stick. The air-gapped machine never needs to connect — at activation or ever after.
The account stores the trial start and end dates. It never receives your backup files, passphrase, recovery key, or storage password.
Pick the computer count you need
A personal package covers 1, 3, 5, or 10 of your own computers. Every package has the same features. Only the computer count changes.
If a computer dies or you replace it, move the license to the replacement. The retired computer does not keep using a place. You can also buy more than one package; each purchase gives you a separate key and its own allowance.
