If you uninstall

Uninstalling MomentBackup does nothing to your backups. They live on your storage — your drive, your NAS, your bucket — in a stable, documented layout, and the app never deletes a snapshot as part of going away.

Coming back

Reinstall the app, point it at the same destination, and your history is there: every snapshot browsable, everything restorable. For encrypted backups you’ll need your passphrase or recovery key — keep that key safe even while you’re not using the app.

Actually removing backups

If you genuinely want the space back, delete the MomentBackup folder on the destination (or the bucket contents) yourself — deliberately, by hand, after making sure nothing in it is the only copy of something you love. The app won’t do a silent bulk delete for you, and that’s by design.

Settings and local data

The app’s settings and local index live in your user profile. Depending on your operating system and installer, they may remain after the app is removed. You can remove that local data separately if you want a fully clean uninstall. It is not your backup history, and removing it does not delete anything from your backup destination.
